What Is KOW Athletics?

Built for Antiguan Athletes. Built to Last.

KOW Athletics is a youth athletic development program based in Antigua & Barbuda. The program is designed for athletes ages 8–18 who want to move better, train smarter, and build a stronger athletic foundation.

KOW is not limited to one sport. We train the qualities that help athletes perform better across sports: speed, agility, coordination, strength fundamentals, conditioning, movement mechanics, discipline, confidence, and accountability.

The mission is simple: help young athletes in Antigua train with more structure, more purpose, and higher standards.

What Athletes Will Work On

Six areas every athlete develops through KOW training.

.

Agility

Starting, stopping, cutting, reacting, and changing direction with control.

Speed

Acceleration, running mechanics, and the ability to cover ground quickly.

Movement

Coordination, balance, body control, and efficient movement patterns.

Strength Fundamentals

Age-appropriate strength training focused on proper form and safe development.

Conditioning

Building the stamina and work capacity needed to compete and stay sharp.

Discipline & Confidence

Learning how to show up, take coaching, work hard, compete, and believe in improvement.

OUR PROGRAMS

  • Free Intro Clinic

A free community clinic introducing athletes ages 8–18 to speed, agility, movement training, strength basics, and flag football fundamentals.

  • Private & Small Group Training

Focused athletic development for athletes who want more individual coaching, quality reps, and training built around their goals.

  • School-Term Programs

Structured athletic development for schools, after-school programs, sports teams, and student-athletes across Antigua & Barbuda.

What to Expect at a Session

  • Every KOW Athletics session is organized with a purpose. Athletes begin with a proper warm-up and movement preparation before moving into speed, agility, coordination, strength fundamentals, conditioning, or sport-specific work.

Training is adjusted by age and ability level. An 8-year-old and an 18-year-old do not train the same way, but both are held to a standard of focus, effort, and improvement.

Athletes can expect direct coaching, clear instruction, competitive drills, and a structured environment where effort, discipline, and attitude matter.

Structured. Focused. Built for Progress.

School-Term Athletic Development Programs

Bringing structured athletic training into the school calendar.

KOW Athletics is designed to support schools across Antigua & Barbuda by providing structured athletic development during the school term.

The program can support physical education, after-school programs, school sports teams, and student-athlete development. Training can be adjusted based on age group, school schedule, field space, and student needs.

Program focus includes speed, agility, movement mechanics, strength and conditioning basics, coordination, discipline, teamwork, and confidence.

Program options may include one-day school intro sessions, after-school training, 6-week pilot programs, or term-based athletic development.

Private and Small Group Training

Focused training for athletes who want more.

KOW Athletics offers private and small group training for athletes who want more focused coaching beyond the free clinic.

Private sessions are built for athletes who need individual attention on speed, agility, movement, conditioning, footwork, or sport-specific development.

Small group training is ideal for 2–5 athletes who want quality reps, direct coaching, and a competitive training environment.

Coach LOO

Founder & Head Coach

Meet Your Coach

Dedan Looby is the founder and head coach of KOW Athletics. A former Division I athlete, Dedan brings a performance-based training mindset to youth athletic development, with a focus on speed, movement, discipline, and long-term athlete growth.

With strong roots in Antigua & Barbuda, Dedan created KOW Athletics to help young athletes train with more structure, confidence, and purpose.

His coaching approach is simple: meet athletes where they are, hold them to a real standard, and help them build habits that carry beyond the field.

Future Competition Pathway: AFFL

A future competition pathway for KOW athletes.

As KOW Athletics grows, athletes will have the opportunity to be introduced to flag football through AFFL — the Antigua & Barbuda Flag Football League.

KOW Athletics will focus on athletic development. AFFL will serve as the future seasonal competition pathway where athletes can apply their training in an organized flag football setting.

KOW develops the athletes.

AFFL gives them a league to compete in.

CFFA may later connect Antigua with other Caribbean islands through regional flag football development and competition.

More details on AFFL will be shared as the program develops.
